D(R)ea(l)ms : What could be the promise of such a place?
Do D(R)ea(l)ms just stand for an escape into the realm of unattainable dreams and fantasies? Or could these D(R)ea(l)ms represent undiscovered spaces, hidden yet existing, where our highest aspirations come closer to reality?
At some point, we began to consider that D(R)ea(l)ms might represent new forms of “sanctuaries”. We found the word “sanctuary” very intriguing, as it has been applied to various kinds of places throughout history, with its meaning evolving over time.
Imagining D(R)eal(m)s has become a way for us to think about new possible forms of refuge and asylum, both in cities and in the wilderness. New kinds of shelters that we can conceive and build in our societies to make them spaces where life can regenerate and thrive.
Which are your D(R)eal(m)s? What or who do you think needs to be protected around you? And what forms of asylum or “sanctuaries” — physical or conceptual — do you envision to save these precious entities?
