Made of mud… how compost builds the world

My partner Rusten Hogness suggested compost instead of posthuman(ism) (a thought tradition that criticises the role of the human at the center), as well as humusities instead of humanities, and I jumped into that wormy pile. 

Human as humus has potential, if we could chop and shred human as Homo, the detumescing project of a self-making and planet-destroying CEO. Imagine a conference not on the Future of the Humanities in the Capitalist Restructuring University, but instead on the Power of the Humusities for a Habitable Multispecies Muddle!

What if we invent an ecosystemic economy

How can we move towards a sustainable ecology if humanity acts like a self-serving, planet-destroying CEO? How can we create a university that not only reflects the existing economic system, but also sustains ecological balance and equal living conditions, rather than merely functioning as a tool for capitalist restructuring? How can we challenge the trend that ties value production predominantly to economic growth, instead of to relationships and knowledge that foster better coexistence on this planet?

What kind of "humans" and what kind of educational institutions would support the creation of a sustainable ecology?

And further reflection leads us to ask: to what extent must an alternative concept of knowledge be linked to an alternative conception of production?
